How do we account for home energy use in our calculations?
There is no formally established way to do this. So, you do not need to feel under heavy pressure to undertake this.
One option is to make assumptions regarding energy use per employee, as opposed to asking every employee to monitor and report their personal pro rata working energy use.
If you do this, you just need to be able to demonstrate your assumptions and workings if queried by the Standards Team.
For example, to reach your average, show whether you have used a self assessed energy usage amounts per employee, an assumed average per employee based on some internal research or something else?
What is the difference between high and low impact renewable energy?
The difference is to do with the quantum of impact it has on the environment and its local ecosystem.
The only certified small scale/high impact renewable energy source is hydro-electric power. All the others - wind, solar, biomass - are low impact.
You may need to research/contact your energy provider to find out what type of renewable energy they are providing you with.
